Cell phones while on the toilet?!

Is it wrong to use your cell phone while you are on the toilet? I mean your not doing anything but sitting there, might as well be productive. If your like me and like to sit and contemplate life and what not then I say use the cell phone! Who is going to know except the poor guy sitting next to you who thinks you are talking to him.

Way wrong. Well, it’s a mixed bag. I can appreciate you being productive while there. You can check e-mail, text, even play a game. (Keep your hands clean, PLEASE!)
However, it is bad etiquette to have a conversation while doing your business. Like you said, who would know? But I can speak from experience that hearing a toilet flush in the background, or God forbid, some other sound is a big conversation killer.
I was helping a lady over the phone with her computer, and I was walking her through the steps of a solution. Suddenly I hear the toilet flush and realize two things. One, she wasn’t actually following the steps that I was so patiently giving her, and two, she was sitting on the toilet the whole time. Gack. Just my two cents.

Okay maybe I should limit my activities to text and email. Sometimes when I sit down I realize that this is the perfect time to call Fred Howard and tell him that I was just thinking about him. Next time I will just email him.

I totally disagree. And I have to. Because I was doing exactly that when you called the other day.
In your own private toilet, it is perfectly polite as long as there is no moaning, grunting or flushing. Follow up with wiping down the phone with a handy wipe that contains alcohol.
It is terribly rude to do this from a public toilet. You can’t control the background noise.
All bets are off concerning Fred. There is no such thing as rudeness between you two anymore.
I wonder how many of the ladies will admit to talking on the phone while riding the toilet?

Oh Zane, every time you call I go directly to the toilet. Just kidding. Actually I am afraid of being on the cell while anywhere near the toilet because, you know, what if it falls in, Eww??

What if Zane is calling for something important and you are just on the pot thinking about thinks? I say sit down, relax and answer the phone.

I try to keep my thinking about “thinks” down to a minimum, Thomas. I’m just a woman after all.

Ok, I have dropped my phone in the toilet. I wasnt using the phone at the time it fell out of my back pocket. Just a word to the wize take all electronic devices out of pockets when using the bathroom. Its a little embarrasing explaining that to a service rep when trying to replace your phone which was insured.
