Well enough time has passed from the reunion that I’m starting to miss people.
Luckily, the reunion gave me a great means to get back in with many of the folks that are local. Every time I talk to somebody, we bring up having a party. It seems we just didn’t get enough of each other. One couple has even been thinking about hosting it.
I don’t know when our next soirée is going to be, but I’m looking forward to it.

Hollee I would be up for going to Montana. I need a vacation (away from Odessa). But, I used the money I was going to use for vacation to buy my son a car. So, I guess I will wait until next year for vacation.
Oh well, my son is excited though. Gotta love it. LOL

I am also missing everyone. If it didn’t cost me $300 in gas to get there and back, I would be up for another trip soon! As much fun as I had with everyone there, I miss our little “get togethers”.
If I shoudl be able to tell, I’m sorry, but who is Havalah00? I, too, spent my vacation $$ on buying my son a car. Y’all will probably laugh at what we found him. It is a 1982 Datsun 280Z. I wanted one of those soooo bad when I was his age!!!

He is lucky to get a 280Z. Those are BA little cars. That little straight 6 is a monster. Do you think he will fool with it?

He has a little work to do on the interior before he starts with much else. Also, there is a small dent in the hood that he has intentions of trying to pull out first, so some of the first stuff will be cosmetic. He has replaced the hydrolics that raise the back window and a couple of other things so far. He’s only had it two weeks and other than changing the oil and filters, I’m trying to get him working on the fuel filter, brakes, etc. The guy we bought it from has the original papers from his mom who bought the car new in ‘82 and it has been sitting for a few years. I asked my son to get a Chilton manual because I know very little about those particular cars and need a little guidance. The only really interesting things I’ve found out about it thus far are that it is the year Nissan bought out Datsun so they recalled it to add the X and make it Datsun 280ZX, and I believe it is fuel injected. That one threw me for a loop! It should be fun getting to know it a little better. I’m hoping to discover that the brakes are not drum brakes because those are such a pain in the arse to deal with!!

I had to go open up the shop for a technician from out of town. He is going to Denver City this lovely rainy morning.

Yuk! That sucks. It’s one thing to be up early when you should be sleeping in, but to have to go outside the house for work…
